Unless you've been snoozing under a large boulder, odds are that you've heard that Google, Samsung, and Apple aren't the happiest of campers lately.?
Apple thinks that Samsung's Galaxy Nexus is infringing on some of its patents, Samsung was told that it'll have to stop selling the device in the United States until things are sorted out, and Google's busy preparing a software patch that'll somehow?resolve the issue.
Go ahead, say it: Why can't we all just get along?
I won't bore you with the details of the legal drama ??though if you are interested, I suggest checking out the Verge's fantastic series on the matter?? and will instead?stick with what you really need to know.
Right now you can't order a Galaxy Nexus directly from Google ? it's been taken off of the Play website?? but that's no reason to panic, consider crossing borders or desperately try individual carriers' stores. According to a Google spokesperson, the device will be on sale again in about a week, when it will be offered with the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean, and the mysterious patch which will circumvent the terms of the sales ban.
There! Breathe a sigh of relief. It'll all be alright?? you'll still be able to order a shiny new gadget, even though a bunch of companies are?continuing?to bicker.
Want more tech news, silly puns, or amusing links? You'll get plenty of all three if you keep up with Rosa Golijan, the writer of this post, by following her on?Twitter, subscribing to her?Facebook?posts,?or circling her?on?Google+.
